Who are you and what’s your role here at Circe Law?

My name is Emily Douglas and I’m an Administration Assistant and will be starting an apprenticeship in January.

What’s your experience been like here so far?

Everyone is so kind to me and helps me whenever I need it and I don’t feel scared or disadvantaged if I have to ask for help and I’m always kept busy which I enjoy.

How do you get on with the team?

The team are so lovely, they let me decorate my desk, and nobody judges me. I feel like they’re all my friends, as well as colleagues.

Why Circe?

I chose Circe because the value’s that we represent are something I want to represent, and it seemed like a really good place to work that puts good things first.

Who is your biggest role model/inspiration?

I would have to say Jade – since Year 9 she was my English tutor and I have always looked up to her. She has always helped me go on the right path and put the things I should be prioritising first.

What’s one thing you want to achieve in the next year?

I want to get a better understanding of law as a whole since I’m new to it and be able to get on with it, rather than having to ask for help quite often.

Can you describe yourself in 3 words?

Caring – I care too much about people all the time. Also, believing and fashionable.

What gave you an interest in law?

I was in Year 9 and I had to do work experience and I asked Jade what to do, and asked what she did for a job, and she told me she was a Solicitor. I said I just wanted to be like her so I did work experience with her.

What’s the best thing about working at Circe?

The fact that I’m not afraid that if I ask for help or say I’m a bit confused there will be retaliation. If I ask for help, they’ll just help me.

If you were to end up anywhere in your career, where would that be?

I would probably say that I’d want to be a Head of Department. I would want to have graduated as a Solicitor and keep a huge passion for whatever area I’ve decided to go into by then.
