Before this week at Circe Law, I knew next to nothing about how much law affected people on a daily basis. I never really thought that I would be so interested in Wills, Trusts and Probate. In my head, it just sounded so boring, but in reality it’s nothing like that. Picking my A-levels I kind of knew that Law would be something I was interested in, but after this week, it really has been confirmed making me nearly 100% sure that Law is the career I would like to go into.
During my week at Circe Law, I was given the opportunity to draft Wills, prepare LPAs, sit in meetings and make phone calls. I had never sat through meetings before, and this really proved to me how much the team valued and appreciated their clients. However, the most important skill I feel have got out of this experience was writing formal emails, something that I was unable to do until the lovely team at Circe Law helped me. I was able to familiarise myself with the programme LEAP, which I did not realise till this week was such a huge part of running a law firm. LEAP has also taught me how much attention to detail is needed in the legal industry; missing just one small step creates a whole different situation. Being supported by Jade, Lisa and Jess really helped me in developing these skills and my confidence has thoroughly grown throughout the week. Jess was able to answer every question I had in full detail, which really has allowed me to leave here with a further depth of knowledge about things I didn’t know even existed until this week.
I have been trying to be exposed to the legal industry for so long now, yet so many firms do not respond, and therefore I must give thanks to the whole of the Circe Law team for the fantastic week that they have given me. Being in this legal environment has really taught me one thing in particular – they do not need to be strict and traditional for them to become successful.
