I knew since Year 9 that law was the sector I wanted to work in, and my English tutor at the time was Jade Gani, who helped me get to know the process of stepping into the field of law. She also recommended work experience, so I was able to get an insight on what working in law was really like. I have completed two other weeks of work experience as well as a week with Circe Law which has been my favourite for many reasons but mainly because of what I have been able to get out of this week. I have been able to witness Wills being made right from the first step all the way through it being made to becoming finished. Jade asked what the most enjoyable part was from other work experiences, which was drafting Wills, and made sure to let me complete some of them as well as a variety overall so I can gain more experience.

Everyone in the team was so welcoming and so lovely. We would all sit together for lunch, and I truly felt like I was a part of the team. They all worked together to make sure everyone felt comfortable and to make sure that everything was done before any deadlines. This excellent communication made my time at work experience very smooth and made me want to come back. If Jade was out of the office for a home client meeting, another member of the team would ensure that I had enough work to keep me busy as well as ensuring that I knew how to do it and answered any questions that I had. I felt comfortable to ask questions which is really important for work experience, so you are able to learn.

The office is extremely accessible to get to, being two minutes away from the M4 as well as having plenty of parking spaces if you’re able to drive. But the best part of all was the office being pet-friendly, enabling me to bring my dog Fudgie in. Fudgie absolutely loved it. The second she got in, she ran straight into Jade’s office and became the boss for the day. Phil loved playing with her and completely wore her out, sleeping for the whole evening into the night.

I came into work experience with the certainty I wanted to go into family law, but I think Circe may have just flipped that for me, making me look more into Wills and Probate.

Overall, if you are looking to go into the field of law or are still unsure and thinking that law may be on the table, I would definitely recommend contacting Circe to book a week of work experience as this will help you make your decision.
