Spending a full week at Circe gave me a great opportunity to delve into the specifics of Private Client Law: something especially rare in this competitive world of work. Whether it was drafting Wills, preparing LPAs, or sitting through client meetings, I can genuinely say that every element of this work experience laid some legal foundations for me, and allowed me to decide for sure that this was where I wanted to see myself in the near future.

To begin with, I met the wonderful people at Circe: Jess, Lisa, Wendy, and Jade, who all made me feel very welcome throughout my time there. I was introduced to the case management ‘LEAP’ system as well as the creation of physical files for new clients which I got very comfortable with and allowed me to develop a better understanding of the logistics that come with starting a law firm. As the week went on, I became more efficient in the tasks I was assigned with completing, with great help from both Jess and Jade. This included making detailed notes in a multitude of client meetings, drafting various legal documents, and making the occasional post office trip! My confidence largely grew as time passed, and I had learnt so much about the intricacies of the clauses in a Will, the way different Trusts work in a Will, the significance of applying to have Powers of Attorney, and so much more.

Being exposed to a legal setting is something I’ve tried to work my way into for a while, however Circe was one of the very few companies that were genuine in their responses to me, and I truly thank Jade for offering me this opportunity. I hope it becomes an opportunity that many more will be grateful for in the future as well!
