My time at Circe Law was unfortunately quite short. However, in a 5 day timespan I was introduced to a lot of the most prominent parts of the Private Client legal world: LPAs, Wills and Estate Administration. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to use sophisticated digital programs such as LEAP whilst also experiencing the more handy, simple tasks such as sorting through folders.
I was given the opportunity to draft Wills and LPAs which gave me an exciting insight into the legal world as I was able to understand the value and importance placed on these documents in the lives of Circe’s Clients. These tasks allowed me to build many legal skills such as creating formal emails and navigating legal documents to find the correct clauses.
I expected the administrative tasks such as sorting folders to be simple and boring, but the files actually ended up offering me one of the most interesting tasks of my work experience week. Being able to sort and categorise these jumbled files allowed me to understand the client’s unique story. This demonstrated to me how important work such as Wills truly are because they have such an extremely personal impact on each and every Client. The team at Circe Law definitely felt the same way which created an encouraging environment to work hard and tackle new problems.
My time at Circe Law has definitely solidified my interest in studying Law at university and seeing the passion of the team has definitely encouraged me to carry on that interest beyond university. I truly hope others can benefit from this experience in the future as well.
